how do I get my dog to stop eating clothes?

My dog eats towels, clothes, blankets, basically anything cloth. Why does she do it & how do I get her to stop? I’m afraid she’ll get bound-up & need surgery.

My dog is being hyper-active during Agility training. What should I do to calm him down?

I have an 8 1 months old Australian Shepherd, he is very friendly to everybody & to other dogs, trained & well-behaved at home. He usually gets 2 long walks and a play with his friends everyday. He is currently attending agility classes 2x a week and a basic obedience course (that makes him 3x a week at Dog School). On trainings, as soon as we enter the training ground, he starts to get wild, he barks a lot (w\c is unusual for him ‘coz he’ s so quiet at home) he jumps on me and is not following the "sit, stay & come" commands (stuff he knows already). I always end up having a short training time with him on the field ‘coz of his behavior. But as soon as we are out of the training ground, he is back to his "well-behaved" attitude. I don’t know what to do or what’s wrong with him. Anybody, pls advice.

aggressive dog?

He is 1 year old. We’ve had him since 10 weeks old.

He is People aggressive, dog aggressive, food aggressive, and cat aggressive.

He is very friendly towards us, and is very playful with my other dogs when he wants to be, but he is unpredictable.

When he meets new people he growls, and runs away cautiously looking back at the person, & then will bark very loudly.

When cornered by someone he does not know, he will bite.

I do not know what to do with him anymore.. I’ve tried lots of things. Neutering.. obedience training.. seperating, socializing.. more attention, prong collar, but he hangs his head down very low to the ground with that.. so I don’t use it for him.

Trainers refuse to work with him as they fear for themselves and others in the training sessions.

Rescues won’t take him because he is not purebred german shepherd.. and because he is aggressive.

My female Siberian husky NEVER used to be food aggressive, but ever since he came, now she has to be seperated as well.
I’ve taken him around a lot of people when he was a pup for socialization, but for some reason as he started getting bigger he stopped liking new people.

And like I said before he gets along with my other dogs when he wants to.. but is unpredictable..

Quite a few times he has gotten into bad fights with my female Siberian husky.

She is spayed and he is neutered. She was here first before him. People said all he was doing was establishing dominace, and not to worry about it.

Well I do worry about it because he has attacked her so many times already a lot of times over nothing! other times over food!

We keep them seperated now but before it would be horrible! I’d come home to see them standing up on their hind legs just going at eachother! fur standing up, drool all over eachother!
It was hard to break them up.

This dog belongs to my boyfriend, he does not live with me, but I agreed to take Ozzy in because he couldn’t keep him where he lives.
BUT when I took Ozzy in I did not know
he would turn out this way, as he was a puppy when I took him in.

I was trying to help out my boyfriend by giving Ozzy a place to stay, and I’ve done that.

But it’s getting to the point to where I can’t handle him anymore.

What do I do with him??

I’ve already tried training but no trainer wants to take him on. They and about 3 vets have all suggested to put him down.
But my boyfried cries when I suggest it.

I told him "then take him with you.. I can’t have him around my dog anymore, he has almost turned her like him now! he bites the back of her legs, and attacks her when she walks by, its awful now she hates being touched in the leg area she almost bit the vet when she was giving her a shot! and you’re never here enough to see everything which is why you disagree, but I don’t know what else to do with him, if you love him that much take him back to your house!"

But all he says is he can’t because where he lives there is a 2 pet limit, and he already has 1 other dog and a cat.

He told me "Do what you have to do, but don’t tell me about it..please." and then he walked off crying.

I feel terrible, but then on the other hand I have this mean aggressive dog in my backyard terrorizing my dog.
He is not purebred German Shepherd he is mixed with Collie.

My boyfriend got him from some lady giving away puppies at a target store. According to him what she said was the parents had great temperments.
And i’ve tried finding him another home.

Someone who would be willing to deal with him, and has experience with this kind of behavior but no one wants to take him.

Also if I did give him away to another home, and he attacked them, he’d get destroyed, and I’d be sued big time. That’s the warning the vet gave me, and so did the trainers.
I am willing to give him another chance, but if in the end it doesn’t work out and he is still the same as he is now.. should I take him in?
Ozzy’s microchip info is registered to my boyfriend’s name in his city. I live in a different city 10 minutes away. Would my boyfriend have to go with me to drop him off at the pound? As he does not want to go with me if it comes to that. But if Ozzy is registered in another city to his name, would he have to be there to confirm owner drop off?

But that is only if it comes to it.

How do I make my dog more aggressive?

I know that sounds like an odd question. I have a 5 month old Akita puppy. I got an Akita because the breed is very protective. And I live on my own, just moved into a new apt around mid-town. I really like my new apt building next door has a bunch of rowdy guys living in it, I don’t like to be bothered.

So they’ll cat call to me or even approach me & my Akita just stands there all excited to be meet new people, wagging his tail, prepared to lick the men to death. How do I make him give a warning bark or better yet a little growl? I just want to train him to do that until I tell him it’s okay. I’ve seen people with well trained aggressive breed dogs do that. It works very well. Any suggestions?
Alright listen up guys. My dog is very well trained. I read & researched the breed before I got him. And because of that I have been socializing him since he was just a little guy to keep him friendly, I thought that was the best course of action. I don’t actually want an aggressive dog I want a guard dog.

He doesn’t bark at all. He makes little whines in greeting sometimes. Once when he was out with my sister (who much more timid then I am) some weird guy approached her & he wouldn’t let the man get anywhere close to her, growling w/all his hair on end. So I know that it’s in his nature. I’m just wondering if he has to sense my fear of a situation or something first, because my neighbors just annoy me I box & I’m fairly sure if it came to it I could handle my business. I would rather just not be bothered at all. All I really want is for him to give a growl when someone approaches or gets too close to me that he doesn’t know.
Kelly – you just really pissed me off. I’ve never hit or been aggressive towards my dog a DAY IN HIS LIFE. He sits, heals, lays down, shakes, rolls over, and kennels on command, and is almost completely trail trained at 5 months because of the work I’ve done with him. Keep in mind he’s an Akita a breed that is notoriously hard to train.

Obviously he is so well adjusted, he likes everyone & everything. So why don’t you go give your pets away to someone with a bit more intelligence then you, that can properly train them & treat them right. You obviously have some issues if you jump to the conclusions that I beat my dog from the question I asked.
